Sooo...I've known for a long time that I would need to watch Game of Thrones because I'm a fan of fantasy - especially medieval + dragons fantasy. I mean, who isn't?
I'm presently watching season 2, episode 8 (I promise, no plot spoilers) and I'm grateful that I've waited so I can just power through a whole bunch in a row. I suppose there are two sides to that. On the other hand I know a lot of spoilers from being a citizen of the internet. In my opinion, it's a positive since I'm prepared for the mental and emotional anguish.
Believe me, there is anguish. Sometimes just disgust or perhaps a lot of loathing, maybe now and then a glimmer of victory, which you languish in briefly before it's cruelly snatched away. Oh Game of Thrones, she be a harsh and unforgiving mistress but she be beautiful. Ar, she be beautiful.
I don't know why that just happened. Anyhoo...I decided in my musings to list my favourite characters so far - that way you can pinpoint the exact moments of my unfathomable grief.
Good day readers! As of Friday, April 26, 2013, a new series shall premiere! Part of a story will be posted every Friday night on a separate blog named, "Shadow Vault", located under the Blog tab. It will be similar to the Storytime Sunday format but this time the theme is completely different and some segments may be written before Friday.
Shadow Vault will be for mature readers only. That doesn't necessarily mean just adults but it is recommended. It may include mature themes, offensive language, violence, nudity or other explicit scenes. It is intended for mature audiences only. Reader discretion is advised. If you'd like to know a little more about the story, click below.
The closer we get to Christmas, the busier life becomes. Yesterday (Saturday) I attended my partner's company hosted Christmas party. I was a little nervous since we didn't attend last year's party. I had been terribly sick and it just wasn't possible. So this year was our first time. I never expected anything like that. It was phenomenal! They really did their best to make sure their employees knew they were appreciated. A great venue and what was even more shocking were the presentations. The hosts were truly inventive and humourous. While handing out door prizes they decided to gather people on stage for a "contest". They all had to dance Gangnam Style to the music. It was hilarious! I never expected such a young and fresh approach from a 25 year old company. The door prizes themselves were expensive and generous. I was quite surprised. Not to mention the mouth watering food they provided but there's one detail that's more important than all the others. The true mark of an excellent company, an open bar. That''s right, free drinks. We really did have a great time.
Now for the more important update, Storytime Sunday. The more I write, the more I realize I don't have a plan for ending it. So it could go on for a very long time. Even if this particular storyline finishes, I will always have ideas for more.
This time I will include the most immediate segment of the previous post as a reminder of where we left off. If you're looking for a full update, you can read Part VII. If you're adventurous and courageous of heart then I suggest we continue. . .
Hello readers! Today is another addition to Storytime Sunday. I'm looking forward to what might happen next! Feel free to read this post by itself or in conjunction with the others.
I know this is later than usual but with the holidays coming up there are only so many shopping days before Christmas. Luckily, I'm almost finished shopping.
Without further ado, Part VII. . .
Good day to you all! Before I continue with Storytime Sunday I would like to give a little update. I realize I haven't posted in a couple of days and for that I apologize. I've been quite busy. Luckily I do have some pleasant news. Yesterday (Saturday, December 1) my partner and I bought our second Christmas tree together! I've never had a Christmas tree this early in all my life! It was quite exciting. We purchased it from a lot where most of the proceeds go to charity. It made buying a Christmas tree that much more special. So today (December 2), we will be decorating our tree! We might need to get a few more ornaments or lights but I think it will turn out great. So whenever I get the chance I'll post pictures! Then you can all enjoy my tree. I think I might even post some from last year.
Now onwards! We continue our story. If you are interested in reading the previous segments the links are located here. You can also find them as a subheading for the Blog. Either way you'll be sure to enjoy Part VI.
Good afternoon, it is once again Storytime Sunday! Today I have written Part V. To be honest, this was one of the more difficult parts for me to write since I had to come up with it on the spot. For anyone just joining us I have a separate page with all the links (Storytime Sunday). If you like you can just read this segment, it will still be interesting.
On to Part V. . .
I recently finished reading Confessions of a Shopaholic which was lent to me among other Sophie Kinsella novels including, Gatecrasher, The Undomestic Goddess and Can You Keep a Secret.
I left Confessions of a Shopaholic to the very last since I had already seen the movie with Isla Fisher. I had no idea that the film had completely and utterly misrepresented the book. I mean, completely! I had enjoyed the movie but now that I have read the book, I will look at it differently.
So these are my confessions, describing the great injustice done to the novel. Let's just say that in some ways I'm glad I watched the movie first because otherwise I would have hated it. It is literally shocking how much the film differs from the book. What a tragedy. What I can't understand is why they decided to shift around the story so drastically?
I can't believe it's the fourth Sunday since I've started Storytime Sunday. Time truly does fly by. If this is your first time reading Storytime Sunday, I have some links to assist you so you can catch up: Part I, Part II and Part III. If you don't feel like reading the previous segments that's okay. You'll still enjoy this part.
I know I kind of left things hanging last time so without further ado, here's Part IV.
