Today I'm celebrating the Blog's first anniversary! Yay! (Check out the first blog post!) I'm super happy that I've managed to dedicate enough time to this website to maintain it long enough for a year. I think now that the year is over, I've gotten over the hump and will continue to update this website for years to come. Well - one can be hopeful.
Who knows what the future holds? I'll be leaving for France soon - perhaps within the year and the Blog could change dramatically. I'll discuss my experiences teaching English and travelling in Europe. I'm looking forward to it.
So what am I doing special for today? Well, I thought a long time about this and decided it might be fun if I created one of my favourite things - an Easter egg hunt.
Oooh, are you excited now? I've hidden 12 (one for each month of the year) links around the site. Each one has an audio player with a random topic I discuss. How will you know if you've found it? You'd have to click to find out. Some of them are out in the open and some of them are hidden. Who knows? You might never find all 12. If I'm nice, I might reveal a hint or two later on.
Well, have fun!
Tomorrow is the Blog's 1 year Anniversary! I will be doing something extra special for tomorrow, so please check back!
On another note, I have finished doing audio readings for parts 1-7 of Shadow Vault.
I've been feeling so guilty about missing two weeks of Shadow Vault that I decided to do something special.
What is it, you ask? Well, it just so happens that I've been thinking about it for awhile and I've finally decided to do it.
I have read the first part of Shadow Vault and recorded it. I've already added it to the post. I plan on reading all of Shadow Vault and posting the recordings. I think it'll be a new way to enjoy the story.
One thing to note: the quality isn't perfect but it is clear and I may misspeak sometimes.
I apologize for the late notice however I will not be able to post this Friday's edition of Shadow Vault. For those of you following me on Twitter, you already know why but let me elaborate.
I was about to take a shower on the last morning of my vacation when I reach in to my bag for a loufa and I withdraw my hand quickly. I instantly feel unimaginable pain. Blood gushes out from my finger tip and I run to the sink. I immediately went to clean the wound, and run water over my finger - I regretted it. I desperately tried multiple times but the pain was unbearable. I was crying and coughing, eventually hacked so hard that I vomited a little. My mother called the front desk and they sent some people with first aid. They wrapped it up best they could and sent me to the hospital to get stitches.
Without going into too much detail, the doctor took a look at it and told me there wasn't enough skin to suture. The nurse gave me a tetanus shot, wrapped my finger up in gauze and warned me it would still bleed through. Out of a pain scale of ten (both knees broken), the pain fluctuated from a six to an eight. I've had my tricep tendon snap once and that was nearly blackout painful - well so was this. I definitely saw spots.
Now I'm waiting for it to heal - maybe 10 days or longer. It hurts too much to type with both hands and I decided to wait until I can have full use of my hand.
I hope you understand my predicament. I will post SV XIII as soon as possible!
(By the way, the object that cut a chunk off my finger was my razor. I threw the blasphemous object away.)
Edit: Shadow Vault will be returning August 2, 2013.
